- Strong command of at least one subject you'd teach
- Patience and genuine care for students and their families
- Clear, simple explanations, not jargon
- Reliability: you show up prepared and on time
- Bengali, Urdu, Arabic, Spanish, or other community languages are a plus, not a requirement
- Teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience preferred but not required for strong candidates
